Loan settlement

Settle your loans for less than you owe

When repaying the full amount isn't possible, settlement is often the smartest path forward. Fliint negotiates directly with your lenders to close outstanding loans at a fraction of the balance — legally, transparently, and on your terms.

What is loan settlement?

Loan settlement is a legal process where you negotiate with your lender to pay a lump-sum amount that is less than the total outstanding balance, in exchange for the lender closing the account and marking it as settled.

Banks and NBFCs often prefer a partial recovery over no recovery — especially on accounts that have been delinquent for some time. This creates a real opportunity to resolve debt at a significantly reduced amount.

Fliint handles the entire negotiation on your behalf. We know what lenders will accept, how to structure the offer, and how to get the settlement documented properly so there are no surprises later.

Typical settlement example

Total outstanding₹5,00,000
Settlement amount₹2,25,000
You save₹2,75,000

Important

What you should know before settling

Your credit score will be affected

A settled account is marked 'Settled' on your credit report, which is better than 'Written Off' but still impacts your score. We'll explain the exact impact for your case.

Settlement is not the same as closure

A settled account means you paid less than the full amount. It stays on your credit report for 7 years. We'll help you rebuild your score after settlement.

You need a lump sum

Most settlements require a one-time lump-sum payment. We'll help you plan for this and in some cases negotiate a short payment window.

Get everything in writing

Never pay without a written settlement agreement and NDC. Fliint ensures all documentation is in order before any payment is made.
